 Indianapolis Tornados win the National Championship!!!!!!!!! web hosting Atlanta, GA - It was a statistician's dream, as the Indianapolis Tornados and San Diego Thunder combined to score 80 points and total 900 yards from scrimmage. The Tornados took home the NAFL1 Championship trophy in a 45-35 shootout.
This was an all-out aerial assault as both starting quarterbacks topped the 300-yard mark (Jason Jones, San Diego - 391 / Casey Gillin, Indianapolis - 326). The game also featured three 100-yard receivers (Brandon McDonald, San Diego, 7-168 yards / Josh Salic, San Diego / 12-160 yards / Glenn Ayro, Indianapolis, 6-154 yards). Tornados' running back Mo Virgil had a quiet 112 yards on the ground, and scored on a scintillating 27 yard run to ice the game early in the fourth quarter.

Indianapolis Tornados are in the NAFL National Championship!!!!
Milford, CT - After 14 hrs. of tough travel to Connecticut, the Indianapolis Tornados prevailed against adversity to defeat the CT Giants 24-22.
Mo Virgil scored on two long touchdown runs of 60 and 53 yards. His 142 yards rushing was the most allowed by the Giants to one player since 2005.
“He is a real good player,” said Giants linebacker Courtney Sutherland, “when he got going he was tough to deal with.”
Now, the Tornados are set to take on the San Diego (CA) Thunder (LCFL Champions) in Atlanta, Georgia for the National Championship, Saturday November 15th 2008.

The Indianapolis Tornados claim the North Conference Championship.
St. Paul, MN - The Indianapolis Tornados have claimed the North Conference Championship and advance to the Final Four in the North American Football League (NAFL) playoffs by defeated the St Paul Pioneers 42-16 at North St. Paul High School.
The Tornados (11-2) used a potent passing attack led by QB Casey Gillin, who threw for 5 TDs on the day, and a staunch defense that kept the Pioneers off balance all game long.
“By far the best team we have seen, hands down” said Pioneer Head Coach Mark Heiser. “Everybody on that team, from their best player to the last guy on the roster knew how to play the game and was solid in every area.”
Gillin connected with Andre Totten for two (2) touchdowns, Mo Virgil for one (1), Glenn Ayro for one (1), and Josh Jenkins for (1). On defense, Terry Moore had one (1) interception, Isaac Oglesby recovered a fumble for a touchdown, Sunungura Rusununguko aka “Go Go” had two (2) and ½ sacks, Lyndal Tipton had eight (8) tackles and a ½ sack, and Randall Guzman aka “Mongo” had two (2) tackles for loss. The defensive front was stout all game. The Indianapolis Tornados advance to the NAFL Final Four for the first time in franchise history to take on the Connecticut Giants, Nov. 8th (location TBA).

Round 3 vs London Silverbacks, Oct. 18th 2008

 The Indianapolis Tornados earned the title, Elite Eight. London (ONT), Canada – The Indianapolis Tornados took on the undefeated London Silverbacks in the 3rd Round of the North American Football League (NAFL) playoffs. It was a slugfest from the very start. The Tornados came out and took the lead early, while the Silverbacks continued to fight to keep themselves in the game. By half time, the score was 17-13; the Tornados held a slim advantage. In the second half the Tornados came out and took charge. All NAFL running back, Mo Virgil ended the opening drive with a touchdown run, his second on the night, making the score 24-13. After a couple of big plays in the third quarter, the Silverbacks came back and took the lead by the score of 25-24. The Tornados found themselves with their backs against the wall, but that was until Mo Virgil took over. In the fourth quarter, Mo Virgil took the hand-off and went 85 yards for his third rushing touchdown of the night. The Tornados defense would hold; forcing two (2) interceptions in the fourth quarter. The Tornados offense wasn’t finished either. Mo Virgil ran in his fourth touchdown of the night to seal the victory for the Tornados. The final score was 37-25. This victory places the Indianapolis Tornados in the Northern Conference final against the St. Paul Pioneers in St. Paul, Minnesota. This is the first time the Indianapolis Tornados have earned the title, “Elite Eight”, since 2003. What a tremendous game!! The research papers is a first thing to do after get inspired by this.

Round 2 vs Wisconsin Wolfpack, Oct. 11th 2008

The Indianapolis Tornados soar over the opposition.
Indianapolis, IN - The second round of the North American Football League (NAFL) playoffs started out much like the first round for the Indianapolis Tornados.
By the end of the half, the visiting Wisconsin Wolfpack found themselves down, 24-0. All-NAFL Running Back, Mo Virgil (pictured) soars over the opposition for the first of 24 unanswered points in the first half. Virgil finished with 18 carries for 203 yards and two (2) touchdowns. Quarterback, Casey Gillin, threw for 133 yards, three (3) touchdowns, and no interceptions. The Tornados defense played tough and finished the game with four (4) interceptions, and two (2) sacks.
The final score was 38-18 after a surge late in the fourth quarter by the Wolpack. The Tornados are now set to travel to Ontario, Canada for round three of the NAFL playoffs to face off against the undefeated London Silverbacks. This playoff game will be this Saturday, October 18th, 2008.

The Indianapolis Tornados tame the Lions.
Carmel, IN - The Indianapolis Tornados made a statement this weekend in the first round of the North American Football League (NAFL) playoffs by defeating the Lapeer (MI) Lions, 52-0.
The Tornados were virtually unstoppable, lead by another stellar performance by All-NAFL Running Back, Mo Virgil. Virgil ran in three (3) touchdowns, while Quarterback, Casey Gillin, threw in three (3) more. Once again, the stingy Tornados defense shut the Lions out for the second time this season.
The Tornados are now set to host round two of the NAFL playoffs, due to the Defending National Champions, Kane County Eagles, upset defeat to the Wisconsin Wolfpack.
