Great for the players, great for the fans! To return to Carmel Stadium for the 2008 season is another milestone for the Tornados. If this was a great venue in the past for the Tornados then it is even better today. The field's playing surface was replaced in 2005 with field 
turf. Field turf is a composite of rubber, sand, and artificial blades of grass and it's been heralded as offering players both safety and a fast-track surface on which to run. These type fields are much safer than the older artificial grass fields because they have the softness of real grass. The surface is faster than most real grass fields because of its evenness. Also it holds its beauty year round, which for players and fans, makes for an exciting and professional experience.
Carmel Stadium opened in the fall of 1991. The stadium seats 6,234 and has parking for over 1,500 vehicles.
From the North: Take 31 South to the 431 split - bear to the Left. Continue South on 431 (N. Keystone Avenue) to E. 136th Street (Smoky Row). Turn Right (West) to Carmel Stadium which is on the right side of the street.
From the South: Take I-465 to the north side of Indianapolis and exit at Keystone Avenue (431). Go North on Keystone Avenue (431). Continue to E. 136th Street (Smoky Row). Turn Left (West) to Carmel Stadium which is on the right side of the street.
From the East: I-465 West to Keystone Avenue (431) exit. Turn Right (North). Continue North to E. 136th Street (Smoky Row). Turn Left (West) to Carmel Stadium which is on the right side of the street.
From the West: I-465 East to Keystone Avenue (431) exit. Turn Left (north) on Keystone. Continue North to E. 136th Street (Smoky Row). Turn Left (West) to Carmel Stadium which is on the right side of the street.
